Victoria Square used to be called 'Market Square' and was the commercial heart of Christchurch. it is a triangular square on the corner Colombo Street and Armagh Street, just north of Cathedral Square and ChristChurch Cathedral. This panorama shows the Avon River, which runs along the northwest edge of the square. On the far bank is a massive fountain in front of the building opposite. The picture also shows the bridge across the Avon River.
