View Over Holmes Bay - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This panorama was taken form the Port Levy - Pigeon Bay Road as it rounds one of the hills and gives a view over Holmes Bay from high in the hills. This is a very windy dirt road, with fairly deep ruts in places. Diriving is 'interesting', but the views are worth the effort. The picture was taken on an overcast day, and the next part of the road can just be seen winding round towards the coast.

The road from Pigeon Bay to Port Levy is a single lane, windy dirt track with few passing spaces. It ascends and descends steeply over the hills of the a href="/2449/Banks_Peninsula/Banks_Peninsula">Banks Peninsula, giving stunning views of the surrounding rugged countryside and, at times, glimpses of the coastline. This panorama shows the view down to Holmes Bay, near to where the track descends to the coastline and proceeds to Pigeon Bay.
