MTR Train at Tsim Sha Tsui - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Panorama taken inside a MTR train stationed at Tsim Sha Tsui KCR Station. The train had just arrived, and was therefore quite empty allowing this novel panorama to show the interior without too many people.
MTR Train at Tsim Sha Tsui - FURTHER INFORMATION
MTR Train at Tsim Sha Tsui - Hong Kong visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'MTR Train at Tsim Sha Tsui' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Hong Kong.
The MTR (Mass Transit Railway) is vital to the life of Hong Kong. Lines run both throughout Kowloon and Hong Kong Island, linking them together by 3 different tunnels. The network is quite new, opening in 1979. The trains are spacious, except at rush hour, modern and clean, making them the envy of much of the world. They are also reasonably cheap and form the best way to explore Hong Kong.
Tsim Sha Tsui station, where this panorama was taken, is at the centre of the tourist sector of Kowloon. It is at the southern end of Nathan Road, famous for shopping, just a couple of minutes walk from the Star Ferry Terminal. Nearby are numerous hotels, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Hong Kong Museum of Art and the science museum. Linked to these is a promenade offering panoramic views over Victoria Harbour and the Avenue of Stars.
