Plaza del Matxete - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Under the watchful eye of the Churches S. Miguel (S. XVI) and St. Vincent Martyr (S. XV) in the Gothic city of Vitoria, before New Victoria, and through the eye of an observer 'Arquillos', is Open collection and the 'Square Matxete', saving a great and cruel history, as its name comes from the Great oaths of office of the city and of harsh death sentences carried out without any modesty, being situated in its' High / mistress' Matxete a lap in his honor.
As you enter it you feel as time recedes transforming for a moment in a character medieval busy watching artisans and tradesmen and empty odor of thousands of essences from that era.

Plaza del Matxete in Vitoria-Gastiez is a medieval town square in the center of the ancient city. Surrounded by old buildings which appear converted into modern residences, and overlooked by a tall bell tower, this square is full of charm and character.
Very close to Balcony over White Virgin Square and the Provincial Square, the Plaza del Matxete is a treasure to find on a walk around the historic back streets of old Vitoria-Gasteiz town.
