Kerang is a rural service town near the Victoria state border with New South Wales. Around 279Km north west of Melbourne, 878Km west of Sydney via the Sturt and Hume Highways and around 574Km east of Adelaide on the Mallee and Calder Highways.
Notable for landmarks such as the Memorial Clock on Wellington Street and the Court House on Victoria Street, this town is a busy agricultural service town and a popular stop with visitors touring this region who enjoy observing wildlife in a picturesque environment of lagoons, lakes and marshland and in particular, spotting the Ibis indigenous to this area.

279Km or 173 miles north-west of Melbourne city via the Murray Valley Highway. Kerang is accessible via it's small regional airport and the Swan Hill railway service.
