Po Fook Hill Gardens - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
A panorama taken at the gardens at the base of Po Fook Hill cemetery and columbarium. This complex is very close to the Temple of Ten Thousand Buddhas, and is worth exploring in it's own right. In the gardens are a couple of open shrines containing statues of various gods, and traditional ponds with paths over them. It is actually quite a relaxing place to be.

The Po Fook Hill cemetery is also known as 'Bo Fu Shan Kwat Fui Ham'. The funerary complex is in Sha Tin in the New Territories of Hong Kong. It is at the base of the Buddha lined path leading up to the Monastery of Ten Thousand Buddhas. Some tourist guides and information on the internet incorrectly link the escalators taking visitors to the Po Fook Hill cemetery as going up to the Temple of Ten Thousand Buddhas.
Visitors ascend to the main Po Fook Hill Cemetery complex via either the escalators or steps up from the garden. Here you will find a small shrine behind which rises the top of a white pagoda. Further up in the complex you come to the pagoda and the columbarium. When you are further away from the complex, on the roads approaching it, then both this white pagoda and the red pagoda of the Temple of Ten Thousand Buddhas can both be seen. The Shatin Government offices are in the office block visible in this panorama next to the gardens.
