Po Fook Hill Columbarium - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Panorama taken inside the Columbarium of Po Fook Hill Cemetery in Hong Kong. The occupied spaces in the columbarium each have a picture of them of the deceases whose ashes are inside. This is on black paper which gives the individual's details. The un-filled slots are gold. In the doorway is a small table and beyond this an incense burning urn. This columbarium is just one alcove of several that encircle the white multi-layered pagoda, whose lower level is shown in this panorama.

This is one of several Columbarium at the Po Fook Hill cemetery in Sha Tin. It is a modern burial site in Hong Kong and marks a large change towards ceremation in funerary practice. Po Fook Hill is also known as 'Bo Fu Shan Kwat Fui Ham'. The pagoda can clearly be seen in the satellite view of the Google map of Hong Kong.
Po Fook Hill is often mistaken by tourists as the Monastery of Ten Thousand Buddhas, which is above it on the hill and accessed via a long Buddha lined path to the right of the Po Fook Hill complex. A new columbarium is being completed at the Temple of Ten Thousand Buddhas, indicating the need for new burial space in Hong Kong.
