Surin Beach is a popular little beach on the west coast of Phuket, lying between Pansea Beach and Laem Sing Beach. It is about 1km long with a wide stretch of sand. The beach is good for bathing, but does drop quite steeply into the sea and can have large waves. Also there are several large rocky outcrops in the water.The beach is not dominated by hotels, but is lined tastefully with a number of beach restaurants, bars and massage stations. Most of the sunbeds are run by the bars, who will serve drinks onto the beach.
The headlands at either end of Surin beach offer some snorkelling, but it is not as good as elsewhere in Phuket. There are not hotels on the beach front, all the hotels and hostels at Surin are set back from the beach itself. The beach has dangerous currents during the rainy season.
Within Surin are a number of luxury hotels, with Ayara Hilltops Resort (5 star), Benyada Lodge (3 star), Courtyard Phuket at Surin (5 star), Manathai Hotel and Resort (4 star), Surin Beach Resort Hotel (4 star), The Chava Resort (5 star) and Twin Palms Hotel (5 star). The budget hotels are further back from the beach.
