Bang Tao Beach - Further Information

Bang Tao Beach is a luxury tourist destination in Phuket. Here visitors find 6km of sandy beach gazing westward out to sea, lined with some of the most luxurious beach hotels in Phuket. Most of the beach is lined by the Laguna Resort and the beach is also known as Bang Thao Beach or Laguna Beach. Most of the hotel accommodation is either within the Laguna Resort or at the southern end of the beach. The rest is relatively unspoilt.

Bang Thao Beach is a great place to relax and unwind with both clear seas and fine white sands. It is fully resourced with amenities and various companies offer water sports. Not far from Bang Tao beach is the small, traditional village of Cherng Talay, where locals still make their living out of fishing, farming and tapping rubber. A little to the south is Surin Beach.

Banyan Tree, Sheraton Grande Laguna and Laguna Resort

Bang Tao has not escaped the notice of several exclusive hotels. The Banyan Tree, one of the most luxurious hotels in Phuket, is located nearby. Similarly, the Sheraton Grande Laguna has made Bang Tao it's home.

The Laguna Resort has a mixture of chalets, private housing and other accommodation. The Laguna Resort also contains a fantastic 18 hole golf course of international standard. The Johnnie Walker Classic golf competition is held in Phuket.

Travel Directions and Getting There:
Car: Bang Tao beach and the resorts are about 30 minutes from Phuket International Airport.
