Google Map Kish IslandKish IslandKish Island (Persian: جزیرهی کی) lies off Hormozgan province in southern Iran. This Persian Gulf island is one of 14 in Hormozgan province. Kish is a resort island and a free-trade zone, a very popular tourist resort with high-quality hotels and guest accommodations, malls, boutiques and it is bountiful in shopping. There is a resident population of around 20, 000 but approx 1.5 million visitors are welcomed annually with the famous Arabic hospitality. Kish island is the third most visited Western-orientated location in this region after Sharm el-Sheikh and Dubai.Kish is a small island of around 91.5Km squared. Surrounded by coral reefs and an archipelago of smaller islands, Kish is hot and humid in summertime and enjoys a mild climate in winter. Kish has sandy beaches on the eastern end of the island. Since the 1990s, substantial investment in Kish has seen this resort grow to rival Dubai as a destination of choice for luxurious holidays and shopping. The economy thrives and development works continue to expand the social and civil infrastructure in line with the increasing interest as a luxury destination. Sports and recreational activities are well catered for including several golf courses and an Olympic multi-purpose stadium. Other notable attractions include the Dolphin Park. The Darius Grand Hotel is a $125million 5-star hotel and visitor attraction in its own right.
