Founded in 1881 by Gustavus W. Schroeder, a German sea-captain, who established Zion Baptist Church to minister to the population. Although the location of the church has changed through moving several times to new buildings, the mission of the church remains faithful to it's mandate at inception. The church extends a warm welcome to visitors.
