Pier 39 Restaurants and Shops - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This panorama was taken near the entrance to Pier 39 on a spring morning in 2008. The panorama shows some of the shops and restaurants that line Pier 39 here. As it was quite early in the day when this picture was take, there were not too many people here, but at high season, Pier 39, one of the most popular tourist attractions in San Francisco, can get very busy.

This two storey mall has over 200 retail outlets, plus a wide variety of cafes, restaurants and fast food outlets. There are seating and dining areas both indoors and outdoors in the courtyard spaces between businesses, but as this is reputedly the most visited tourist attraction in the USA, it can become exceptionally busy and seating can be very limited. Be sure can sample the locally caught Dungeness Crab and the clam chowder served in freshly baked sourdough bread - the local specialty.
