Immigrant Point is dedicated to the newcomers who make America their home and this stone plaza viewing platform with panoramic views to the Golden Gate Bridge was built to honour the millions of immigrants for whom the Golden Gate symbolizes the gateway to their new beginning in their new home.

Trails Forever Initiative, a partnership between the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, Presidio Trust and the National Park Service, are undertaking to create a series of viewpoints and trail extensions as part of the project to renovate the Presidio park. At Immigrant Point, a new picnic area has been created and is a popular resting point while hiking the 29 miles of trails and paved pathways throughout the forests, beaches and cliff tops of Presidio.

Car: From central San Francisco take Geary Blvd east and then turn north onto Arguello Blvd. Turn left onto Washington Blvd just beyond Inspiration Point and follow the read to Immigrant Point. If coming south on the 101 from Marin Headlands, turn off the highway just after the Golden Gate Bridge toll station onto Merchant Road. Then take Lincoln Blvd west.
