Rama VIII Bridge - Bangkok visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Rama VIII Bridge' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Central Thailand.

The Rama VIII bridge link Klong Bang Yikhan, on the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok with Bang Khunprom on the Bangkok side. The bridge was officially opened on September 20, 2002. The Rama VIII bridge is about 2.5km long, including the approach spans. The single supporting tower stands on the western side of the Chao Phraya River, and from here a series of golden coloured cables support the carriageway below.

The bridge has become a very recognizeable part of the Bangkok skyline and a tourist attraction in it's own right. From the center of the bridge there area good panoramic views over the city. The Rama VIII bridge is so popular that it has featured on the back of Thailand's 20 baht bank note.
