Hollywood from Mount Lee - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Panorama from a ridge near the top of Mount Lee behind Hollywood. This point is about 1700 feet above sea level, and provides a dramatic panoramic view over the whole of Los Angeles and the surrounding areas. It is only accessible by foot, and not on the general tourist route. As the picture shows, the effort is rewarding with views to the ocean and, on a clear day, as far as Mt Baldy and Mt Antonio to the east.

Mount Lee is on the western edge of Griffith Park, on the northern edge of , just north of Hollywood. Here hills rise dramatically providing stunning scenery and numerous walks and rides. On the southern slopes of Mount Lee is the famous Hollywood Sign, but most rewarding are the stunning views over the surrounding area. It is hard to imagine an area of such natural beauty and quiet such a short distance from the Los Angeles metropolis and razzmatazz of Hollywood.
A path leads from Mount Lee along a narrow ridge to Cahuenga Peak. These places provide amazing panoramic views of the surrounding area. To the south lies Hollywood Reservoir with Hollywood and Beverly Hills to the southwest. Universal City is obscured by the peak of Cahuenga Peak, but continuing round you can see parts of Burbank and Glendale and the nearby mountains. The bulk of Los Angeles itself lies to the southwest, and you can just make out some of the CBD buildings.
