The Happy Isles, a series of islands on the Merced River a little east of Yosemite Valley Village in Yosemite National Park. The trail head for the hike to Half Dome starts nearby. The Happy Isles can be accessed by free bus from Yosemite Village. The loop road to Happy Isles is only open to the bus, bicycles or disabled vehicles. The nearest public car park is near Curry Village, and from there you must walk in.
