Panorama showing Vernal Fall in Yosemite National Park. This panorama was taken quite close to the waterfall on an overcast day in the spring of 2008. There was so much spray around that the image has an increasing speckled effect as more water collected on the lens. It makes for quite an atmospheric image.

Vernal Fall is on the lower part of the trail to Half Dome. Here the Merced River cascades over a cliff from Emerald Pool in a dramatic waterfall. The river continues down past the Happy Isles and Yosemite Valley Village as it continues it's dramatic path down the main U-shaped valley in Yosemite National Park.

Walk: The trailhead for Vernal Fall starts at Happy Isles. It can be accessed by free bus from Yosemite Village. The loop road to Happy Isles is only open to the bus, bicycles or disabled vehicles. The nearest public car park is near Curry Village, and from there you must walk in.
