Panorama showing Vernal Fall in Yosemite National Park. I had already taken a panorama in the spray zone of Vernal Fall, and then move a little further up the hill to a drier place. Having cleaned up the camera, I took another panorama which shows a better view down the valley. It was taken on an overcast spring day in March 2008.

Vernal Fall is on the lower part of the trail to Half Dome. Here the Merced River cascades over a cliff from Emerald Pool in a dramatic waterfall. The river continues down past the Happy Isles and Yosemite Valley Village as it continues it's dramatic path down the main U-shaped valley in Yosemite National Park.

The trailhead for Vernal Fall starts at Happy Isles. It can be accessed by free bus from Yosemite Village. The loop road to Happy Isles is only open to the bus, bicycles or disabled vehicles. The nearest public car park is near Curry Village, and from there you must walk in.
