Lower Yosemite Fall is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Yosemite National Park. A paved and level walkway takes people to Lower Yosemite Falls Viewpoint near the base of the waterfall. On the way, a branch heads off into the woods, and this picture, taken nearby, shows Yosemite Creek and both the Upper Yosemite Fall and the Lower Yosemite Fall. The rocks in the water have been rounded by hundreds of years of weathering. The water level of the creek rises dramatically at the height of the snow melt, and the creek often changes course from season to season. From here the creek continues a short distance through the woods and over a meadow to enter the Merced River.
More dramatic views of both the Upper and Lower Yosemite waterfalls can be had from near Moran Point on the Four Mile Trail, but this requires a lot more, quite steep, walking to get to. However, walkers are then rewarded with stunning views, not only of Yosemite Waterfalls, but also across the whole of Yosemite Valley.
