The National Pioneer Women's Hall of Fame is Australia's first virtual Women's Museum. Dedicated to preserving the place of women in history for their special contribution to Australia's heritage, it is one of only three women's museums in operation in Australia.
Founded in 1993 by Molly Clark of Old Andado Station, it appropriately chose International Women's Day - 8th of Marhc, 2007 - to move to its new permanent home and the beautifully restored Old Gaol of Alice Springs close to the Royal Flying Doctor Service Visitor Centre.
The other two Australian Women's Museums are located at Brisbane and Tumbarumba in New South Wales.
