140 Road to Merced - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Panorama taken from the side of the 140 on the way from Yosemite National Park to Merced. The image was taken late in the afternoon, and I had just driven from the park where it had been raining. The transformation of the landscape in about 1.5 hours driving was very dramatic. The foothills leading to Yosemite are to the northeast, under a thin layer of cloud. All around here, close to the junction with Cunningham Road towards Le Grand, are flat green fields that seem to go on forever.
