This panoramic image shows the City Pillar Shrine of Ayutthaya. Every town has a shrine where the city pillar (lak muang) is housed to provide a home for the guardian spirits of the city. Another example is the Lak Muang of Bangkok. The City Pillar Shrine of Ayutthaya is on the souther corner of the junction of Thanon Phrasisanphet and Thanon Pathon. It is just north of the Tourist Information Centre and on the opposite side of Thanon Pathon from Wat Ket and the House of PKhum Khun Phaen.

Travel and Getting There:
Wat Phraram is on Thanon Phrasisanphet in the old town of Ayutthaya, close to the Tourist Information Office.
