South of Alice Springs in Arumbera is Australia's National Road Transport Hall of Fame. Run by the 'Road Transport Historical Society', a project manned by enthusiastic volunteers from the community. The Hall fo Fame is dedicated to the preservation and presentation of Australia's unique road transport heritage. The project is based at the Shell Rimula Hall of Fame in Alice Springs, known as the traditional birthplace of the road train.
The Hall of Fame celebrates the various vehicles used throughout Australian history - the trucks, lorries, cars and buses. It also commemorates those pioneering drivers and engineers, the pioneering people who helped forge this remarkable country through their work in transportation.
The exhibits include several vintage vehicles and photographic exhibits. Suitable for all ages, this is a fun place to visit with the family.
