Cadney Homestead - a remote outback roadhouse on the Stuart Highway, approx 1,000km north of Adelaide, 150km north of the small Opal mining town Cooper Pedy or 540km south of Alice Springs.
Cadney Homestead is close to the recently found outback attraction Painted Desert and features a stop for The Ghan railway operating between Adelaide and Darwin in the Northern Territory. Outback roadhouses are a welcome oasis for a cold drink, fuel and a yarn after hours of driving on straight roads through a hardly changing landscape.
