Glendambo Hotel/Motel - FURTHER INFORMATION
Glendambo Hotel/Motel - Glendambo visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Glendambo Hotel/Motel' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from South Australia.
Glendambo is 116km west of Woomera on the Stuart Highway (A87), which links Port Augusta on the coast of South Australia with Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. With a population of around 30 people and an annual rainfall of only 185 mm it will never grow into a major centre but is an important tourist service township providing comforts and services for travellers along the Highway. It is a popular fuel stop serving Prominent Hill Mine about 230 km away and is the last stop before Coober Pedy 254km to the north. The town offers a a caravan park, licensed restaurant, road house, hotel/motel and a general store.
Glendambo hotel was designed like a grand outback homestead and woolshed with 12 foot wide timber slatted verandahs, high ceilings and heavy oregon framework. This panorama shows both the motel and a road train.
