View over South Beach - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Panorama taken from the top of the cliff walk from Studland village to South Beach. The picture, taken on a sunny day in September 2008, shows the view over Studland bay from the top of the chalk hills. There are loads of pleasure boats and yachts on the water, and the coastline continues east to Old Harry Rocks.

The coastal and cliff path along the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset is very popular, with stunning views over the sea. It starts at Shell Bay Beach, close to the Sandbanks Ferry, and proceeds along the sandy beaches and over the chalk cliffs to Swanage. The first part of the walk traverses sections of Studland Nature Reserve and then climbs up along the cliff tops to Old Harry Rocks. From there the path continues over the hills to Swanage. On the far side of Swanage it is possible to pick up the trail again and continue along the coast past Kimmeridge, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, eventually ending up in Lyme Regis. At the base of the cliff here is South Beach.
