The Durlston Lighthouse is within Durlstong Country park, a short walk from Durlston Castle. There are a couple of lookouts on the way to the lighthouse, and dolphins have occasionally been spotted in the sea. For determined hikers, the coastal path continues along the cliffs towards Kimmeridge, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. This is all part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.

From the ceter of Swanage follow signs to Durlston Country Park up Park Road, Durlston Road and then to the fee paying car park at the end of Lighthouse Road.
