Knightwood Oak - FURTHER INFORMATION
Knightwood Oak - New Forest visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Knightwood Oak' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Hampshire.
The Knightwood Oak is the largest, and one of the oldest, oak trees in the New Forest in Hampshire. The oak measures about 7.4m round and is thought to be about 400 years old. Thus the Knightwood Oak claims pride of place amongst the trees in the New Forest, and stands within a protected enclosure, surrounded by a traditional cleft oak fence.
The Knightwood Oak walk is a short circular walk from the nearby carpark to the tree and back. The trail is flat and suitable for all users. On the way are a number of saplings which originated from the oak itself.
