The B3082 Blandford Road runs next to Badbury Rings in Dorset. The section next to Badbury Rings is lined with beech trees and is known locally as Beech Avenue. The 731 beech trees that line the avenue here for 2.5 miles were planted in 1835. They are now reaching the end of their natural lives, and the National Trust, which manages the site, is removing diseased trees and replacing them with hornbeam.
