Richmond Green - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Panorama taken Richmond Green in Richmond. The picture was taken in autumn in 2008, just as the trees were changing colour. It was an unseasonably warm day and people were enjoying the sun and relaxing on the grass.

Richmond Green is the main 'village' green in Richmond in Richmond upon Thames, London. Richmond Green has a long association with cricket, and used to house a first class side. The green has existed here since before 1625, when Charles I brought his court here to escape an outbreak of the plague in central London. Once a rail and good road links were built connecting Richmond upon Thames with central London, this became a very fashionable area and is surrounded by Victorian town houses.
Richmond Green is a very short distance from the River Thames, and is separated from the Old Deer Park by a railway and the A316 Twickenham Road. It is about a 5 minute walk from Richmond tube and rail station.
