At the top of Terrace Fields is a gravel promenade and viewing area. From here, visitors are granted a spectacular view over southwest London. The top of Terrrace Field is on Richmond Hill, very close to the Richmond Gate entrance to Richmond Park. A popular walk takes people from Riverside next to Richmond Bridge along the banks of the Thames to Buccleugh Gardens. From there it is possible to ascend Richmond Hill through Terrace Gardens and then continue along the top to Terrace Field.
From the top the view overlooks Twickenham and Chertsey to the west, and down towards Kingston upon Thames to the south.

Terrace Field is about 20 minutes walk from Richmond station along Peterhsam Road or up Richmond Hill.
