Marla Roadhouse is on the Stuart Highway, 1082 km north of Adelaide, 676 km north of Port Augusta and 159 km south of the Northern Territory border on the Stuart Highway.
Marla is located at the Oodnadatta Track turnoff, just over the road from the new Ghan railway line and offers travellers a caravan park, camping facilities, hotel and motel accommodation, a restaurant, bar, petrol station and supermarket. It is said that the word 'Marla' is an Aboriginal word meaning 'kangaroo'.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
Car: A87 Stuart Highway, 250km south of Erlduna and 80km north of Cadney.
Train: Trains on the Ghan railway from Adelaide or Darwin stop here twice a week.
