Marla is a tiny township near to the Ghan railway line on the Stuart highway in north-western South Australia, just 160km south of the Northern Territory border. Marla marks the northern end of the Oodnadatta Track and the turnoff to the Mintabie opal fields.
The small township is built around a service station which comprises of a shop, hotel, motel and pub. Also here is the Marla Roadhouse. Trains running between Adelaide and Darwin stop here twice a week.

Car: A87 Stuart Highway, 250km south of Erlduna and 80km north of Cadney.
Train: Trains on the Ghan railway from Adelaide or Darwin stop here twice a week.
