Barnes is a prosperous suburb of London close to Richmond. At the northern end of the suburb is the Hammersmith Bridge, and the river then loops round Barnes to Kew Bridge.

Nearby tourist attractions include the WWT London Wetlands Centre next to Barn Elms and the Olympic Studios on Church Road, site of many famous recordings. Barnes is well placed for access to Richmond Park and a walking / cycling path runs along the River Thames here.
