The upper balcony of the Dunedin Railway Station is the best place to get a good view of the mosaic floor of the ticket hall. This mosaic floor contains nearly 750,000 Minton tiles and a beautiful mosaic of a steam train in the center. Part of the upper floor of the station has now been dedicated to arts, and there are numerous individual artist's workshops and shops to be found here. These are worth browsing while waiting to depart on the famous Taieri Gorge Railway adventure, one of the top attractions in Dunedin.
