Portobello Bay is one of the larger bays on the nothern side of the Otago Peninsula. The small village of Portobello is set in the hills overlooking the bay and Otago Harbour. A coastal road winds around Portobello Bay and Lamlash Bay on the way from Dunedin to Harrington Point and the Royal Albatross Centre, having just passed Latham Bay and Edwards Bay. On the far side of the bay lies the small village of Lower Portobello at the junction with Weir Road which crosses the Otago Peninsula to the Papanui Inlet.
Portobello is popular with tourists and has a number of Bed and Breakfast (B&B) and farm stay accommodation available.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
