Patiti Poia Beach is close to Timaru Cemetery, south of Timaru town center. It is close to Caledonian Sports Park. There is a coastal path along here, and it is used by locals. The coastline curves gently to the north ending up at Timaru Harbour.

Timaru Cemetery is on Domain Avenue, which comes off the 1 Highway south of the town center. At the end of Domain Avenue take South Street to the beach car park.
