Logging beside the Clutha River - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Panorama taken from a buff overlooking the Clutha River and Clutha Valley where logging had taken place. It was a shock to see, but part of a renewable resource and viable local industry. Image taken in 2008.

Logging beside the Clutha River - South Otago visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Logging beside the Clutha River' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Otago.
Logging is an important industry in New Zealand and some of the forests in Otago are managed for the industry. While the sites of tree harvesting can look devastating at first, this is a sustainable industry and the forests grow back. One such forest is along the banks of the Clutha River between Beaumont and Tuapeka Mouth in South Otago.
