Cashmere Bay is along an arm of Lake Brunner, about half way down the eastern shore. It opens up into Iveagh Bay and then into the main lake. The nearest settlement is Te Kinga, and it is about 7km from Moana. This bay is often used for boat launching, and it is not uncommon to see both kayaks and water skiing on the Iveagh Bay arm.
There are numerous holiday lodges and home stays near to Cashmere Bay. These are often set in very isolated spots providing solitude in beautiful surroundings. Those near the shore also provide stunning views over the lake and mountains. Among the better known of these is Kingfisher Lodge.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
Road: From Lake Brunner or Moana, take the Lake Brunner Road to Te Kinga. From here take Cashmere Bay Road to the end.
