Iveagh Bay and Cashmere Bay are about half way down the eastern side of Lake Brunner on the West Coast of New Zealand. The area is very popular for boating, water skiing and brown trout fishing in the summer months and there are a number of lodges and hotels that cater for the adventure tourist trade.
The Te Kinga track starts from Iveagh Bay. This leads up to the top of Mt Te Kinga, and takes 6-7 hours return. There is a lookout part way up the track with a 3 hour return time. They are both great places for panoramic views over the surrounding countryside.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
Road: From Lake Brunner or Moana, take the Lake Brunner Road to Te Kinga. From here take Cashmere Bay Road to the end.
