Cashmere Bay is along an arm of Lake Brunner, about half way down the eastern shore near to Te Kinga. This little inlet opens up into Iveagh Bay and then into the main lake. This bay is often used for boat launching, and it is not uncommon to see both kayaks and water skiing on the Iveagh Bay arm.
