There are two villages named Waikawau on the Coromandel Peninsula in the Waikato region of New Zealand. The one shown here is at the mouth of the Waikawau River on the west coast of the Peninsula a short distance south of Coromandel. The other is at Waikawau Bay on the east coast of the peninsula about 65km away.

Waikawau is on Highway 25, about 25km north of Thames and 30km south of Coromandel.
