Werribee is about 32 km southwest of Melbourne city center and 40km northeast of Geelong in Victoria, southern Australia on the Werribee River. The town began in the 1850's around pasturing and was then known as Wyndham. It was renamed Werribee in 1884 after the river adjacent to it and toady is a rapidly growing city on the outskirts of Melbourne, with relatively cheep housing and within easy commuter distance of Melbourne itself.
Werribee offers a number of attractions for the visitors, these include the Victoria State Rose Garden and Werribee Park Mansion in Werribee Park, Werribee Open Range Zoo, Shadowfax Wines, Point Cook Coastal Park and Sofitel Mansion & Spa.

Road: Werribee is on the M1 (Princess Freeway).
Train: Werribee train line from Newport Station, Southern Cross and Flinders Street.
