Mangonui, a small fishing settlement on Doubtless Bay in New Zealand, grew up around the whaling industry. Though this has now passed, the village still has a thriving fishing interest and a processing plant. Today, Mangonui is also popular for sailing and numerous yachts moor nearby in Mills Bay. Further afield to the west is Rangikapiti Pa, a Maori hill fort with stunning panoramic views of Doubtless Bay and Coopers Beach. Beyond this are Cable Bay and Taipa Beach.
