This is a popular walking spot and from the top there are stunning panoramic views over Doubtless Bay from which you can see much of Mangonui Harbour. To the west lies the long, curved, Coopers Beach and beyond this are Cable Bay and Taipa Beach.Rangikapiti Pa is an important sitefor the Ngati Kahu Māori and is associated with their ancestor Moehuri who landed here in a Ruakaramea canoe. It is thought that he named the pa after his wife.
