Kohukohu was once the center of the timber industry in Northland on the North Island of New Zealand. Today, this small community is becoming popular with tourists who find escape in the lush hills and beautiful scenery of Hokianga Harbour. The village has a thriving artist's community and several arts galleries line the main road selling local works.
