Te Karae is a very small settlement in the northwest part of The Hokianga in Northland at the northern end of New Zealand. The village is set in rolling hills and steep valleys a short distance north of Kohukohu beside a river that flows through the valley to enter Hokinaga Harbour near Urungaio.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
From Kaitaia (50km) take Highway 1 south to Mangamuka Bridge and then follow Mangamuka Rd and Kohukohu Road to Te Karea. The village is 10km north of Kohukohu and about 13km north of the Hokianga Harbour Ferry slipway at The Narrows.
