Kahe Point Beach Park - Oahu visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Kahe Point Beach Park' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Hawaii.
Kahe Point Beach Park lies near the southern end of the eastern shore of Oahu island in Hawaii. The beach is just north of Ko Olina Resort, south of Pili o Kahe Beach, and is nicknamed 'Electric Beach' because of a nearby electric power plant. The beach is popular for diving and snorkeling as the fish population here is quite high. Several Oahu diving schools use Kahe Point Beach for teaching divers, and can often be seen kitting up in the large pavilion within the park. A lot of sea life gathers around the large outflow pipes from the power plant. The water leaving the pipes is warmer than the surrounding ocean. Shoreline fishing from the rocky shore is also a popular pastime.
Among the highlights of sea life at Kahe Point are green turtles and spinner dolphins. These dolphins rest in the coastal waters during the day. Other creatures found here include butterfly fish, parrot fish, damsel fish, surgeon fish, squirrel fish, big eyes, perch, Humuhumunukunukuapuaa, goat fish, snapper and hawk fish to name but a few.
