Seal on Alii Beach - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Every now and again you come across a temporarily fenced off area on the beaches of Oahu. This is because a seal has decided to take up residence on the shore and bask in the sun. This panorama shows part of Alii Beach with a seal on it.

Seal on Alii Beach - Oahu visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Seal on Alii Beach' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Hawaii.
Hale'iwa Ali'i Beach is on the North Shore of Oahu in Hawaii. This is a very popular surfing beach, especially during the winter months when large swells break upon the shore. During the summer months the sea is calmer and the beach is suitable for swimming. At any time of the year you may come across a seal basking in the sun. Do not approach the seals, they can become very aggressive when agitated and move with surprising speed. As soon as the park attendants spot them, they will fence them off to keep the public at a suitable distance to allow the seal to rest in peace.
From this point on Alii Beach there is a good view down the coast towards Mokuleia Beach and Kaena Point State Park.
