The National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific rests in Punchbowl Crater overlooking Honolulu on Oahu. This is one of the most popular attractions in the whole of Hawaii. On the southern rim of the crater is a lookout over Honolulu.
Central to the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific is the Honolulu Memorial which has numerous memorial walls on which is inscribed 18,096 American World War II missing from the Pacific theater, excluding the south Pacific. Addition to this are the names of 8,200 American missing from the Korean War and 2,504 Americans missing from the Vietnam War.
